Appraisal time.

It's that time of the month for all creatives; or soon enough. Every year ad agencies have a meet with their employees and appraise their performance before the new year begins. This is a normal custom in all ad agencies. If there weren't any, there would be riot, chaos and death (ok, not the last one). It is during this time that agencies determine whether that individual deserves a raise as well as a bonus. Usually, the standard is 5% salary increment and a month's bonus is guaranteed.

However, for the unusual and special ones, ECDs, ACDs and top level management, they get more. This is because they have done more work and won more ad awards for the company. So, the rest of the employees have no reason to complain. In fact, these creme of the crop, are so hardworking, that you have to catch them to review almost every work done by various creative teams.

Phew. That's tough.

Nonetheless, when the time comes, make sure that you have a strong reason as to why the agency should give you more money and a salary increment. Who knows, you might've done a lot of work but no one noticed it. Unless it was a big ass project.


Or the glam project like TVCs, Integrated, Digital and etc.
